School closure informationReminder Friday 20th March is a Teacher Training Day – School will be closed to pupils School is also closed to pupils from Monday 23rd March 2020 School closure Dear Parents/Carers You may have seen that the approach to COVID-19 has now changed. Yesterday, the government announced that schools across the UK would close from Friday 20th March until further notice. Due to the planned teacher day, this means that Edgewick will be closed to pupils from 3.15pm on Thursday 19th March (TODAY). See government outline below After schools shut their gates on Friday afternoon, they will remain closed until further notice except for children of key workers and vulnerable children, as part of the country’s ongoing response to coronavirus. Examples of these workers include NHS staff, police and supermarket delivery drivers who need to be able to go to work to support the country’s fight to tackle coronavirus. Vulnerable children include those who have a social worker and those with Education, Health and Care Plans – a legal document that describes a child’s special educational needs and the support they require. Children who do not fall into these groups should remain at home with appropriate care. If you feel you that your family falls into one of these groups and you want your child to remain in school (ie, you are not self-isolating due to symptoms of coronavirus, or medical conditions of other family members) please contact the office for further advice and information. If you have made the school office aware that you would like to collect a school packed lunch (free school meal pupils and pre-arranged only), these will be available for you to collect from the school office between 10.30 and 11am. It is your responsibility to store these lunches appropriately until they are consumed. Thank you for your understanding. Kind regards S. Snooks
Dol-y-mochHere are the pictures from the Dol-y-moch trip in January 2019! The children took part in a wide range of fun and challenging activities such as rock climbing, kayaking, mountain climbing and visiting the mine. The children were very enthusiastic and well behaved. Thank you again to all of the staff for helping us whilst we were there and to the parents for letting us go!!!! We all had a fab time!!!
