  • Communication and Language

  • Physical development

  • Mathematics-focused group work daily using White Rose maths

  • Personal, social and emotional

  • Literacy- phonics group work daily using the Floppy's Phonics scheme

  • Understanding the world

  • Expressive arts and design- looking at artists and skills

We send ½ termly letters outlining what your child will be learning in class for each of the areas of learning.

We provide fun and stimulating activities to meet the needs of all children as every child is unique. The staff ensure that children develop positive relationships to become confident and independent learners.

This Spring half term we are reading the books: The Snowman by Raymond Briggs and the traditional tale Jack and the Beanstalk. We will be looking at Winter seasonal changes and reading non-fiction books which focus on the changes that happen in Winter.

We will be celebrating Chinese New Year (week beginning 23rd January), where the children will be looking at who celebrates it, as well as the history and story, and the the animal of the Chinese Zodiac (the rabbit).

During this have term, we will also be learning about the people who help us. These are: police, paramedics and doctors, firefighters, dentists, as well as those who help us in our school.

Our Maths will be focused on representations of numbers to 8, one more and one less, subitising (knowing how many without counting), and comparing quantities of number, length, mass, and capacity. We will also be introducing time.

The rest of our learning is play based. Children learn through their interactions with the engaging environment and welcoming staff.
