The children are using the environment with confidence, we focus our planning on the children’s interest enabling them to play and learn. The children learn through their play and access resources linked to the 7 areas of learning;

  • Communication and Language

  • Physical development

  • Mathematics-focused group work daily using White Rose maths

  • Personal, social and emotional

  • Literacy- phonics group work daily using the Floppy's Phonics scheme

  • Understanding the world

  • Expressive arts and design- looking at artists and skills

We send ½ termly letters outlining what your child will be learning in class for each of the areas of learning.

We provide fun and stimulating activities to meet the needs of all children as every child is unique. The staff ensure that children develop positive relationships to become confident and independent learners.

This half term we are reading the books: Owl Babies, Elmer, Goldilocks and the three bears, and the story of Rama and Sita. To link with seasonal changes we will be looking at books which focus on Autumn. These books will be Leaf Man, Autumn is Here as well a number of non-fictional books.

We will be celebrating Diwali (November 4th), where the children will be looking at who celebrates it, as well as the different places of worship, such as a Gurdwara.

Our Maths will be focused on matching and sorting objects by different characteristics. We will be moving onto comparing by size, mass, capacity and quantity. We will also look at making and identifying patterns.

The rest of our learning is play based. Children learn through their interactions with the engaging environment and welcoming staff.
