Welcome from the Headteacher
Welcome to Edgewick Community Primary School
Thank you for visiting our school website.
At Edgewick, we are proud of the support we offer every child throughout their time with us, helping them to achieve their full potential. We believe that when children feel safe, valued, and supported, they thrive - and that’s exactly what we aim to provide every day.
We take the time to get to know each child and their family, creating a strong sense of community where pupils feel confident, happy, and ready to learn. Our school is often praised for its calm, inclusive atmosphere, where children of all backgrounds learn and play together harmoniously.
Ofsted (June 2013) recognised our pupils’ behaviour as "exemplary," both in class and around school. Again, in 2023 (Ofsted March 2023) stated ‘The school has a calm atmosphere. Pupils behave well. They respect staff and are clear about what is expected from them. Pupils understand why bullying is not acceptable. Staff tackle instances of bullying effectively. Pupils feel and are safe.’
Children support one another, take an active stand against bullying, and clearly enjoy learning - something that shines through in their attitude and enthusiasm.
Our curriculum is carefully designed to meet the diverse and changing needs of our pupils. Many of our children join us needing support with English or the development of basic skills, and our experienced staff are skilled in helping each child make outstanding progress—from EYFS right through to Year 6.
If you would like to know more about our school, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’d be delighted to hear from you.
Warm regards,
Sally Snooks
